A Creighton man who had previously alluded law enforcement was arrested Saturday night in a shelter belt in Plainview with the help from local citizens.
According to the Knox County Sheriff's Department, Kevin Asbury, who was out on bond from a previous arrest and ran from law enforcement following a pursuit two weeks ago, was arrested on several warrants on Saturday night.
The Plainview Police Department received a phone call from a citizen alleging a man, who was possibly Kevin Asbury, was in a store in Plainview, according to the sheriff's department. The Plainview officer made contact with the man and was given a false name. The officer called the Creighton Police Department to confirm and identity the man, who then he ran out the back door of the business.
Several Plainview citizens helped located Asbury in a shelter belt in Plainview. Officers surrounded the shelter belt, and Asbury was arrested by officers, according to law enforcement.
The Plainview Police Department, Creighton Police Department, Pierce County Sheriffs Office, Pierce Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol all assisted with the arrest.
