It took less than 10 minutes for Creighton Community Schools to evacuate all students and staff after a bomb threat was received on Wednesday afternoon.
Local law enforcement officers did an initial sweep of the building. Extra precaution was taken as the Nebraska State Patrol bomb dog and handler entered the school shortly after 5 p.m. to clear the facility.
Parents were notified of the evacuation by the school's communication system around 2:20 p.m. They were asked to pick up their children from the nearby Faith, Hope, Love Church. School officials said all students were accounted for and reunited with their parents by 4:30 p.m.
About 6:30 p.m., the school's communication system notified parents that the school has been cleared and will be open until 7:30 p.m. for students to retrieve items. Classes will resume at regular time on Thursday.
