Creighton resident, Dr. Brandi Dimmitt, was recently named the Nebraska Dental Hygienists’ Advocate of the Year.

She was honored at the 2019 Nebraska Dental Hygienists’ annual luncheon at the Graduate Hotel in Lincoln on April 12.

Dimmitt has been a licensed Nebraska dentist for 22 years, including a private practice in Creighton.

She has spent the past six years working at the Santee Sioux Reservation.

She said hygienists are invaluable to the dental practice and hygienists are an irreplaceable part of dentistry when it comes to prevention and education. She has worked with dental hygienists throughout her career.

Dimmitt has advocated for use of silver diamine fluoride use in public health settings and partners with North Central District Health Department in its Miles of Smiles varnish and sealant program.
