The second man involved in the 2018 kidnapping and murder of a Yankton woman was found guilty by a federal jury on Wednesday.
Ramon Simpson, 50, of Norfolk was convicted of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping resulting in the death of Phyllis Hunhoff. His sentencing has been set in federal court on June 30.
Conspiracy to commit kidnapping is punishable by a sentence up to life in prison and $250,000 fine. Kidnapping resulting in death carries a minimum mandatory sentence of life in prison, a possible death penalty sentence and up to a $250,000 fine.
