Creighton city officials have set May 7 and 9 for city-wide cleanup.
As an incentive for city residents to clean up their property, the city will provide free curb-side pickup of furniture, appliances, discarded lawn mowers, metal and other discarded items.
Residents south of Main Street are asked to have their items on the curbs by 8 a.m. Tuesday, and those who live north of Main, by 8 a.m. Thursday.
Air conditioner units, refrigerators and freezers must have the refrigerant safely removed, or they will not be picked up.
Items that will not be picked up also include televisions, computers, tires, chemicals, liquid paint and construction materials, including doors and windows.
Goodwill Industries will have a trailer parked near the fire hall to accept donations of reusable items. The trailer will be available May 7 through May 13.
The city has also made arrangements with Tim Prochaska to pick up electronics, appliances and old batteries. The items may be taken to the corner of Main Street and Chase Avenue on Saturday, May 11.
Yard waste, including tree limbs, need to be hauled to the tree dump.
During the summer months, the tree dump will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
Questions may be directed to city hall at 402-358-3557.
