State FFA Degrees awarded

Clarissa Becker, Brittani Pospisil, Hannah Lemke, Ashtyn Fritz and Kimberly Hines were awarded the state FFA degrees during last week’s state convention in Lincoln.               

Creighton FFA members performed well at Nebraska state convention contests earlier this month.

The Creighton chapter received Farm Bureau Connecting Chapters recognition for increasing agricultural literacy by interacting with students in the elementary school.

Five members of the Creighton chapter, Clarissa Becker, Ashtyn Fritz, Kimberly Hines, Hannah Lemke and Brittani Pospisil, were awarded Nebraska State FFA degrees at the 91st Nebraska FFA Convention, held April 3- 5, at Pinnacle Bank Arena, hotels in Lincoln’s Haymarket and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Brian Johnson brought home the gold medal in the extemporaneous speaking category of leadership development events, and Sloane Fuchtman took the bronze in the employment skills category.

Several teams and individuals earned ribbons in career development events. Participants included:

Livestock Management: Clay Curtis, Cody Hanvey, Lemke, Pospisil, RJ Wilmes; and

Poultry evaluation: Red team ribbon; Hanvey, blue; Lemke, red; Pospisil, red; Wilmes.

Brienne Fanta, Grace Van Metre, Christen Curtis, Trey Vogt and Trenton Mathis performed with the FFA chorus at convention ceremonies.
