Raymond Edmund Hansen, “Dane,”, 87 died October 26, 2019
Ray was born February 13, 1932 to Raymond and Marie Hansen of Bloomfield, Nebraska. He was one of eight children, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. At the age of 19, he enlisted in the Navy where he spent 4 years on the USS Destroyer, McGowan, during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska with an B.S. in Geology. He also had an M.S. in Financial Services and made his lifetime work Insurance and Estate Planning. He retired in November of 1996 when he moved from Florida to Tennessee.
He loved the outdoors which introduced him to his many activities like hunting, camping, playing tennis and golf, mountain climbing and hiking. He encouraged his family to embrace this love.
He is survived by wife, Linda Hansen, daughter Dana Franck (John) of Nashville, Tennessee, daughter, Carrie Hansen of Virginia Beach, Virginia, grandchildren, John (Mose) Franck, Elizabeth (Libby) Franck and Margaret (Maggie) Franck all of Nashville, Tennessee, brother, Ramon Hansen (Donna) of Olathe, Kansas, brother Norvin (Fuzz) Hansen (Janet) of Pender, Nebraska and sister Lael Greenlee (Tim) of Gothenburg, Nebraska. He left many nieces and nephews as well.
A memorial service will be held at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church November 9, 2019 at 11 am with a private burial in Bloomfield, NE at a later date.
