The Bulldog wrestlers hosted the O’Neill Eagle grapplers at a dual meet in the Creighton gym Thursday evening, Jan. 24.

The Eagles claimed the win with 47 points to Creighton’s 30.

Bode Wortman and Brenden Waldow won their matches with pins, both in the first period.

JD Kuhlman and Terance Burrell were pinned in the second period of their respective matches. RJ Wilmes was pinned in the third period of his match and Sam Vortherms lost by tech fall in the third period.

Bryce Zimmerer, Shane Farnik and Brody Vrooman won by forfeit.  Creighton gave up four matches by forfeit and both teams were open at 106 pounds.

The Bulldogs will take a short road trip Saturday to compete in the Plainview Invite and will host a quadrangular meet next Thursday, Jan. 31, when Ponca, Laurel-Concord-Colderidge and Dakota Valley, S.D. will come to town. The meet, originally slated at DV in North Sioux City, S.D., was moved due to scheduling issues there.
