The Creighton/Bloomfield American Legion teams hosted a wooden bat tournament last weekend.
In Saturday’s first game, the host junior team took on Valentine and won the five-inning contest, 10-0.
Alex Homan slammed two triples and scored three runs. RJ Wilmes also collected a triple in the game.
Their next match-up was against Albion and the locals won, 2-0. C/B scored with a run in the second inning by Wilmes and Caden Wortman scored the second run in the fifth inning. On the mound, Wortman limited Albion to just two hits.
Pender walked away with a five-inning win in the championship game, 8-0. Tyler Wagner started on the mound and took the loss. Pender scored five runs in the third on one hit, and C/B committed four errors in the inning.
On Saturday, the seniors took on Ponca and won 7-4. Carson Lilly claimed the win on the mound. C/B collected 10 hits in the game as Homan went 4/4 and Conner Hammer went 2/4 and scored two runs.
Valentine fell to C/B on Saturday night, 0-13. Levi Stacken pitched a no-hitter, leading the team to the championship. Bryce Zimmerer was the big hitter of the game, slamming a home run and scoring four runs.
C/B will host the BerryPepper Days Tournament this weekend on Greg Paesl Memorial Field.
