The Bulldogs saw their season come to a close last Tuesday in the opening game of subdistricts.
Creighton was seeded number four in the C2-8 bracket and faced number one Ainsworth in O’Neill.
Ainsworth showed its strong offense in the first half, taking a 27-18 lead to the locker room.
The Bulldogs upped their scoring game and tallied 30 points in the second half. But Ainsworth’s first-half lead carried them to a 61-48 victory.
Conner Hammer was top dog scorer with 16 points. He also grabbed two rebounds and one steal. He went 9/10 from behind the charity stripe.
Brayden Zimmerer and Clay Curtis each scored 10 points. Zimmerer pulled down three rebounds and forced two turnovers. Curtis rebounded six balls and set up two assists. He made 100 percent of his free throws.
Brody Eggers made four points from the field. Carson Lilly, Alex Homan, Brian Johnson and Brennan Pint made two points each.
The Bulldogs held a 5-17 season record. One lone senior player, Nathanael Hale, will be graduating this year.
Next year’s returning senior players will include Curtis, Sam Van Metre, Lilly, Zimmerer, Hammer, Homan, Johnson and Pint.
