Two Creighton High School juniors participated in the Nebraska School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships at Omaha Burke Stadium last weekend.
Thad Hazen qualified for the state competition after placing fifth in the 100-meter dash at districts. His time of 11.53 punched his ticket to state.
“Thad Hazen had a nice run in the state 100-meter dash, with a time of 12.62 in Class C’s fastest heat, which would have gotten him sixth in both of the other heats,” said head coach Randy Kliment.
Alex Homan qualified for state with a first-place pole vault finish in District C-5 with a height of 13’0.
At state, he tied his season best and the school record of 13’8 at state for a fifth-place medal.
